Client Issue
A large, multi-national law firm with thirteen offices and 2,100 employees recognized the need for a compliant safety program while providing employees access to high quality training in CPR, First Aid, safety, and the use of AED equipment. The current program left individual office managers in charge of arranging solutions using local vendors who were able to provide training only on a part time basis. The result was not satisfactory; lacking in consistency, quality, uniformity, and ease of use: as a result, it left the company undesirably vulnerable to risk and required tremendous human capital to arrange programs, procure services, and manage solutions. A company wide solution offering a higher standard of employee training and implementation was needed.
Solution
Being a nationwide provider, Annuvia was positioned to design, implement and service a system to fit the company’s needs. As a distributor for all major AED product types, Annuvia was able to work with program facilitators in finding an AED unit-type that fit specific selection criteria. Such elements as size and weight, battery life, and ease-of-use were taken into consideration. By purchasing for all offices at one time, the client was able to save resources through efficiency and to provide uniformity. Annuvia assigned a Program Coordinator to partner with each local office manager, providing intra-branch consistency. Annuvia instructors offered training for employees that included safety, First Aid, CPR, and AED use. The Program Coordinators tailored each training program to suit the needs of the local unit while maintaining high standards of local and state legal compliance, thus reducing risk exposure for the company as a whole. Additionally, Annuvia assists the firm on an ongoing basis by providing maintenance reminders, replacement accessories, and similar medical-legal oversight services to sustain the integrity of the program.
Results
The firm now has a constantly updated program for employee safety, first aid, CPR, and AED that is consistent throughout its branch offices. Annuvia’s training sessions were attended in unprecedented numbers by employees and received overwhelming praise by attendees. Management of the firm has been commended by employees for the quality of the program. Feeling its risk exposure has been minimized, the firm requested a multi-year extension with Annuvia to continue this high quality program, ongoing support, and program management services. Annuvia has since instituted an internal public awareness program regarding AEDs and has added disaster preparedness information to further improve the health and safety of the firm‘s employees.
