Annuvia to donate 10% of proceeds from CPR classes
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) kills 1000 people every day in the US. Even though defibrillation within 3-5 minutes can result in a 70% chance of survival, only 25%- 33% of SCA victims receive bystander assistance. To improve these statistics June 1-7 has been designated as National CPR/AED Awareness Week. This week is devoted to raising awareness about the importance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and being trained in how to perform CPR.
To recognize this week the American Heart Association (AHA) has set a goal of training 1 million people in CPR. To further this goal Annuvia, an affiliate of the AHA, is pledging to donate 10% of all proceeds from CPR classes booked during the CPR/AED Awareness week to the AHA. All CPR and AED classes are conducted by medical professionals (ER Physicians, Paramedics, ER Nurses etc.).
“Sudden Cardiac Arrest is America’s leading killer and 95% of SCA victims die because treatment with an AED is delayed. Bystanders make the difference between life and death,” states Bob Taggart, Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs for Annuvia.
